Good morning readers, today we return to talk about social networking cms.
Last month I wrote an article about various Content Management System to create a social network that you can find here .
In recent days, my research led me to another social networking cms, called Nimbus CMS
Built on a secure proprietary platfom, created and tested for use with the end user.
Nimbus CMS is the only comprehensive web design software of it’s kind. Completely scaleable to fit any need and with modules built for most business needs. Created to allow designers to meet the demands of their clients while maintaining profitability, NimbusCMS answers all the requirements for current design standards
Created by a single team of programmers, Nimbus CMS and it’s expansion modules work perfectly to allow website owners to grow and expand their websites without having to redevelop the functionality. Every Nimbus module is designed and coded to to expand the website features easily and dependably … Just like Magic!
The modules allow you to you to adapt this CMS to your needs. These modules are designed for:
- Real Estate
- Sports Team
- Social Network
- Training
- e-Commerce
- Blogs
- Events
- Restaurant
- Warehousing
Of course, as we are talking about social networking cms, we are going to analyze their social networking module.
As we know, the key to having a successful website is to give users a reason to come back time and time again. In the Web 2.0 world, there is no better way to accomplish this than a full-featured social network.
Nimbus CMS Social Network module

BENEFITS
The Nimbus CMS Social Networking allows you to offer website visitors a full-featured social network with up-datable user profiles, photo & video albums, user created events, and more! A social network gives visitors a reason to come back and interact while allowing the site owner to foster an online community that can increase conversions and search ranking.
By adding a social network to your website, you can…
- Offer something substantial to your site visitors.
- Communicate with your visitors/customers on a much more personal level.
- Build a community around your brand, product, or service.
FEATURES
The Nimbus CMS Social Network allows users to…
- Create personal profiles with bios, contact info, profile pictures and more.
- “Friend” other users and leave profile comments.
- Create and RSVP for online and offline events in the calendar section.
- Post and respond to Classified Ads.
Well, it seems that this social networking cms has everything that a social networking website should have.
There are two things that puzzle me about this social networking cms;
(1) If I am not a registered user on Nimbus CMS’s website,I can not see the price (Nimbus CMS is a paid solution)
(2) Their forum avaiable here seems abandoned and desolate
Do you have never personally tried this social networking cms?
Do you have opinions to share? Leave a comment!

Well first of all the Nimbus page seems “abandoned and desolate” too since it just does not load today.
There are so many CMS out there in the market for content management. Its crazy.
I’m building websites and writing content for my clients, here is my CMS of choice :
- For small sites (under500 pages) I prefer Concrete5 (www.concrete5.org) because it’s so easy to use, users love it. Latest version is really good (5.5.1) and dioes add a lot of social media features
- For bigger sites, I use Drupal and sometimes MOdx Evolution which is really good to (but modx is more than a framework)
- and of course for blogs I use wordpress
That’s my 2 cents. If you havent, check Concrete5; seriously it rocks
